Hi all,

We are currently working with Oracle Hyperion Planning (on-prem 11.2.21) and encountered a limitation in the Dimension Attributes configuration.

In the Planning UI (Dimension: Account → Attributes tab), when defining a custom attribute of type "String" (e.g., column "TOTAL_YEAR"), the Length is fixed at 80 characters.

We would like to confirm:

  1. Is the 80-character limit for String-type attributes a hard system limitation (inherited from Essbase)?
  2. Is there any supported way to extend this limit?
  3. What is the recommended approach for handling longer text values (e.g., descriptions exceeding 80 characters)?
