Upgrading Salesforce Managed Package to Version 8.x from 7.x

Summary:

Has anyone recently upgraded a Salesforce managed package from version 7.x to 8.x?

I’m looking to understand the potential challenges or issues encountered during the upgrade process. In our case, we have around 100 custom attributes created on legacy objects , what would be the best approach to migrate or map these to the new objects introduced in version 8.x?

Additionally, what key considerations or best practices should we keep in mind to avoid critical issues during the upgrade?
