Element input value to display employee's current salary

in Human Capital Management

Is it possible to have an input value created for an element which displays the current salary of an employee.

I have tried Value Set option with table validation but that is not returning a value while adding element to the employee.

I see that the value column length is returning '0'. Tried changing the Value Data Type to character but no luck.

If this is not possible through Value Set, I would like to know if a contextual DFF at element attributes is possible and how?
