How is the Transaction View and Recon View Default Currency pulled?

Summary:

We are looking into using the Amount (Entered - Default Currency) and Amount (Functional - Default Currency) in a Transaction View filter. The currency that pulls in the Transaction View is different than the Global and the Profile. How is the Transaction View and Recon View Default Currency pulled?
