Manually added roles deleted by the autoprovision rule

Summary:

We have users who need to have access to Recruiting for a certain period. They have been granted Hiring Manager and Line Manager roles but these roles were being removed from their accounts daily. Our guess is because of the LDAP process as per the role mapping, these users should not have these roles in their accounts.

I've read that users keep manually provisioned roles until they were deprovisioned manually. Does this only apply to roles that are not part of the auto-provision role mapping?

If this is because of the process and the auto-provision role, is there a way to override the auto-provision rule and keep these roles for them? I am thinking of not running the scheduled process but it will have impact on the other users.
