Verifying the design. Using a External configurator(Oracle fusion configurator) Inside CPQ

Summary:

We are using fusion configurator inside CPQ using iframe. And we are not storing any BOM Structure inside CPQ as the external configurator is giving me the payload back with the hierarchy that is going to transaction line. We are using parts table in CPQ to get the parts information on the line.

Does it make sense to use BOM Structure table in CPQ or continuing Parts table which is flat makes more sense?

How will it affect pricing as well.

Can anyone give insight?
