How can we find out, what is exactly behind a "Database Item Group" in an Extract Definition

Summary:
Within the extract definition the selected attributes are linked to a "Database Item Grup" which is a drop down list. Often it is more or less clear what is behind that defintion like "Assignment Attribute3" which seems to be the attribute3 flex field in the assignment record.
Sometimes the available descriptions are very foggy like the following example. How can we find out what exactly is executed behind that definition. We have various cases, where we're are very suprised about the delivered values.
