Using Create Mass Assignment Change flow to update manager when position sync is active

Summary: We have a large workgroup who continually change manager. The managers are all in the sma parent position, so it's just a case of shifting people around. However when trying to use Create Mass Assignment Change the attached warning is returned and no changes are completed. Is there a way to do a bulk manager change when position sync is on?
