CPQ to PPM Vs OM to PPM

Summary:

We are implementing Oracle PPM for a client who receives orders that include a combination of shippable items from inventory, subscriptions, and professional services.

In the current EBS, when an item related to professional services is selected on the order, a project is created in PPM. However, the client is facing several reconciliation challenges, especially when incorrect items are selected or when there are price or quantity changes after the order is created in OM.

They are now exploring the possibility of creating the project directly from CPQ, instead of waiting for the order to be created in Order Management.
