Cost Profile option Process Negative Quantity from “Always” to “Never” to avoid cost variance issue

Hi Experts,
We recently noticed that Oracle Support suggested in one of our SRs to update the below Cost Profile option to avoid the generation of cost variance during transaction processing:
Navigation:
Transaction Costing Rules > Process Negative Quantity
Current Value: Always
Suggested Value by Oracle: Never
However, the field is currently appearing as read-only/greyed out, likely because transactions have already been processed using this Cost Profile.
We would like to understand from the community:
- Has anyone changed this option after transactions were already processed?
- Is it possible to update the existing Cost Profile, or is creating a new Cost Profile mandatory?
