OTM Multi‑Stop Shipment vs Same OD Consolidation – Requirement

Summary:

I’m facing a requirement in OTM shipment planning where I need some guidance on how to control shipment consolidation behavior.

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

Business Scenario:
A customer places orders for different food items produced from different plants:

Plant A → produces FoodItemA
Plant B → produces FoodItemB
Same customer destination

Each order quantity is planned such that it utilizes ~50% of a truck capacity.

Example Orders
Order 1: Plant A → Customer (50% truck)
Order 2: Plant A → Customer (50% truck)
Order 3: Plant B → Customer (50% truck)
Order 4: Plant B → Customer (50% truck)

Current OTM Behavior:

When planning only 2 orders (one from each plant) → OTM creates a multi-stop shipment ✅
