Unable to assign costs to an asset due to the expenditure category not being marked as capitalizable

Summary: We have costs associated with a project that need to be assigned to an asset. They are not populating as available to be assigned as an asset. This is due to the expenditure type not being marked as capitalizable. How do we proceed from here? We still need these costs assigned to an asset.
