Multiple assignments - end one assignment - annual leave accrual does not recalculate

Hello,
I am looking for confirmation as to how the system should function.

We have some salaried employees on permanent/open-ended contracts (not fixed-term) who work multiple assignments.
When one of these assignments is ended using the Change Assignment function, and the assignment is made inactive, the annual leave balance does not recalculate to reflect accrual from the part of the year that was worked.

One example is a permanent, salaried employee who works two assignments.
One assignment is ended using the Change Assignment function. The assignment is now inactive.
The annual leave plan has an enrolment end date and a calculation date of the last day of the assignment.
