Issue with Compensatory Time Usage in Same Pay Period

Hi everyone,

Since migrating to Oracle in 2025, we’ve run into a configuration issue with our Compensatory Time plan and are hoping others may have encountered (and solved) something similar. We utilize Oracle Time and Labor for our Time Cards as well.

Current situation:

  • Employees cannot effectively earn and use compensatory time within the same pay period.

Example scenario:

  • Employee starts with a 0 balance in their Compensatory Time plan
  • Works overtime on Monday and chooses to bank those hours
  • Submits an absence request on Friday of the same week, using Compensatory Time

What’s happening:

  • The system allows the absence request to be submitted (we do not have “insufficient balance” restrictions enabled)
