Update status for Leave of Absence in workforce

We have the below business rule that assigns status based on start/term dates. We need to now take into consideration someone going on leave at a specified time. We need them to calculate for the active month, but not when on leave. We could manually update the status in the out months, but when someone runs the update workforce ruleset, the status will reset.
