Feasibility Assessment – Truncating Address Fields in Descartes AES XML Output

Summary:

Feasibility Assessment – Truncating Address Fields in GTM Descartes AES XML Output

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

Customer has requested that address fields in the outbound Descartes AES XML be restricted to the maximum lengths supported by Descartes. Specifically, Address Line 2 (and potentially other address elements) should be truncated to 35 characters in the generated XML, while retaining the full value in OTM.

Based on the current XSL mapping, Address2 is populated directly from the OTM address line without any length restriction.

Question:

  • Whether truncating address fields at the XML generation layer (XSL) is a supported and feasible customization?
