How to wave an order by timestamp

Summary:

Team,

Multiple customer requirements can exist for the same item and customer on the same requested ship date (SSD/RSD), but with different required delivery/shipment timestamps during the day.

Example:

  • Order A: Item X, SSD/RSD = 15-Jul-2026, Required Time = 08:00
  • Order B: Item X, SSD/RSD = 15-Jul-2026, Required Time = 14:00

Business expectation is that inventory allocation and wave processing should prioritize Order A ahead of Order B because it has the earlier required timestamp.

However, we do not see a standard mechanism in Oracle WMS Cloud inbound order interfaces to capture and persist the EDI 862 required timestamp separately from SSD/RSD. As a result, both orders arrive with the same SSD/RSD and WMS has no native attribute available for allocation sequencing or wave prioritization based on intra-day timing requirements.

Howdy, Stranger!
