Narrative Reporting Smart View – Word Doclets Not Opening in Virtual Desktop (WVD)

Summary: When user selects open in SmartView from Word Doclet they get a file conversion error. Other users can open the same Doclet without any issues.


Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information): User can open the Doclet in Word. User can't open from the SV link from the downloads folder.

User can open Doclets using Excel

Version (include the version you are using, if applicable):

User is on SmartView 25.1.

Narrative reporting extension is 26.1.

MS Office is 64 bit.

Tried in Chrome and Edge

Confirmed Word is default app

Ensured Oracle SmartView for Office Chrome Extension is installed

When User gets the file conversion error she tried selecting the "Windows" option and "OK" but it just opens the error message in Word. Same is true when selecting "Unicode UTF-8)
