Mobile Inventory: lot not valid during miscellaneous transaction

We are using Mobile Inventory for miscellaneous transactions. We have barcodes from our suppliers that have multiple inputs and we use them to link the GTIN to our item in PIM.

During an account alias issue, we scan our barcode to retrieve the item and its lot number. When doing so, the lot numer is also populated but is considered as non-valid by the system:

It looks like this is because the subinventory is not yet populated. Once we do that, we need to scan the barcode again for the lot field, even if the lot number is still populated:
