Oracle Demand Planning provides forecast locking functionality to prevent planners from modifying approved forecast values. However, Oracle Support has confirmed that the current locking behavior is temporary and only remains effective during the active planning table session. Once the planning table is refreshed or closed, the applied locks are removed automatically

 

This limitation creates significant challenges for business users who need to protect approved forecasts, NPI forecasts, and consensus demand plans from accidental updates. Users must manually reapply locks after each table refresh or session restart, increasing administrative effort and reducing confidence in forecast
