We are planning to upgrade our Oracle Forms & Reports environment from version 12.2.1.4 to 12.2.1.19 on Oracle Linux.

This is our first Forms & Reports Release Update (RU) upgrade, and we would like to ensure that we follow Oracle's recommended approach without impacting the existing environment.

Current Environment

  • Oracle Forms & Reports: 12.2.1.4
  • WebLogic Server: 12.2.1.4
  • Oracle Linux 8.x
  • Single-node environment
  • No database upgrade is planned

We would appreciate guidance on the following:

  1. What pre-upgrade checks should be completed before applying the 12.2.1.19 Release Update?
  2. How can we determine whether our current OPatch version is compatible, and when is an OPatch upgrade required?
