Recommended Architecture & Native Support for RMA / Line-Level Return Quantities in OTM & Fusion

Hello OTM Community,

We are evaluating the recommended design patterns and capabilities in Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) and Oracle Fusion Cloud for handling Return Material Authorization (RMA) and return pickup execution processes.

Specifically, we want to understand how line-level returned quantities should be managed across the ERP (Fusion Order Management / Inventory) and OTM (Mobile App / Tracking Events).

Context & Current Understanding

From our discussions and technical analysis, our understanding is that:

1. OTM is not the System of Record (SoR) for managing RMA return state or inventory return logic—these business validations and authorization states belong in the source ERP (e.g., Fusion OM / Inventory Management).
