Unable to Update Asset Clearing Account for Existing Asset Category

Summary

I need to update the Asset Clearing Account assigned to an Asset Category in Oracle Fusion Assets.

Scenario:

• The asset category is already in use and has one or more assets assigned to it.
• When navigating to Manage Asset Categories, the Asset Clearing Account field is greyed out and cannot be edited.
• The account is not being derived from the Default Rules tab.
• Other category details are visible, but Asset Cost and Asset Clearing accounts appear to be locked.

Question:

• Is there any supported way to update the Asset Clearing Account for an asset category that already has assets assigned?
