Mandatory monthly maintenance on the quarterly update months

I'm aware that Oracle have made it mandatory to take monthly maintenance patches starting June 2026. I was previously under an impression that these are going to be applied only in the non-quarterly update months. For example, if I'm getting the quarterly updates in Feb, May, Aug, Nov, I thought the mandatory monthly maintenance are done in the other 8 months.

I am due to get 26C quarterly patch this weekend, but today I have also received one more notification saying the mandatory maintenance will be applied around the 3rd week of August. I probably misunderstood and had an incorrect understanding that the monthly ones are not going to be applied in the quarterly patch months.
