Understanding how Oracle Incentive Compensation's Crediting Rules, Rank & Number Of Winners works

Selection of Winning Rules

Classification and crediting rules are organized in a hierarchy. When more than one rule qualifies for a transaction, the application uses the rule hierarchy, rule rank, and Number of Winners setting to determine which qualifying rules win.

How rule selection works

1. Evaluate qualifying rules

The application evaluates the deployed rules against the transaction attributes and identifies the rules whose qualifying criteria match the transaction.

A transaction can qualify for rules in multiple branches of the hierarchy and for rules at multiple levels within the same branch.

2. Prefer more-specific qualifying rules

Within a branch, a qualifying child rule takes precedence over its qualifying parent.
