IPM Events | Assigning overlapping events to a single calendar

edited Aug 18, 2026 4:32PM in Planning 2 comments

Summary:

I am currently evaluating the use of Predictive Planning in PBCS based on a prototype that forecasts sales for the next 12 months using A#Sales, C1#Product Split, and C2#Business Type. While the prototype already generates predictive data for several entity members, I am facing challenges with the event definition, particularly when assigning overlapping events to calendars.

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

The Predictive Planning settings allow users to select a predefined calendar in the Data Range settings. This enables events assigned to that calendar to be considered indirectly as part of the prediction. To understand the impact of events on the prediction results, I wanted to define several events and compare the resulting forecast against the same prediction without events.
