How does Oracle validate leave balance

Hi,

I would like to understand how Oracle validates leave balance when an employee applies for leave.

Here is the scenario:

• Employee has 0.6 days of Annual Leave balance.
• Employee applies for 1 day of Annual Leave starting 18-Jun-2026.
• “Allow negative balance” is not enabled.
• The leave is approved and completed, and the balance becomes -0.4 days.
• The employee will only receive 1.3 days of accrual after the month is completed.

However, the Leave Processing Status shows the following error:

“You can't add this absence because your Annual Leave absence that starts on 18-Jun-2026 uses up your Annual Leave plan balance. (ANC-3405370)”
