Unable to Rename Entity Member Due to Historical Journal References in FCCS

Hi All,

We are attempting to rename an Entity member in Oracle FCCS. However, the rename operation fails with an error indicating that the Entity is referenced in Journals.

The Entity has historical journal associations, and FCCS appears to prevent the rename because those journals reference the existing Entity member. The current workaround would require unposting and updating all related journals before the Entity can be renamed.

Due to the volume of historical journals and audit trail considerations, unposting and modifying historical journals is not a feasible option.

Clarifications Requested

Could you please confirm:

  1. Is this expected FCCS product behavior when an Entity member is referenced by historical journals?
