Purpose of Planned Date in Backlog Analysis UI

in Supply Chain Planning and Collaboration

In the Backlog Analysis UI, I can see the following fields:

  • Planned Ship Date
  • Planned Arrival Date
  • Planned Date

According to the documentation:

Planned Date = Planned Ship Date when the Request Type is Shipment.

Planned Date = Planned Arrival Date when the Request Type is Arrival.

Since the Backlog Analysis UI already shows both Planned Ship Date and Planned Arrival Date, what is the purpose of the Planned Date field, and how does it help planners?
