Validation rules not working after refreshing the form

Issue:
Data Validation Rule cell colors display correctly the first time a form is opened in Smart View (e.g., when opened via a task list link), but the formatting is lost after clicking Refresh. The Smart View "Apply" option is set to Cell Styles.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open the form from a task list (or directly) from the panel — validation rule colors display correctly.
  2. Click Refresh on the Smart View ribbon.
  3. Validation rule colors disappear, even though the underlying data still meets the validation criteria.
  4. Closing the form completely and reopening it restores the correct formatting.

Any idea?
