Can supply planning consider lot expiry during transfers?

While dealing with inventory lots with expiry, expectation is that the lot gets pegged to transfer order demand only if it remains valid till it reaches the destination org after transit time. However, planning only ensures lot validity on the transfer order demand date (ship date at the source org). This poses a risk of the lot getting expired during transit. Has anyone come across such scenario before and is there any config/workaround for it?

See example below -
Lot Expiry Date = 30-Sept
Sugg Ship Date in source org = 29-Sept
Sugg Due date in destination Org = 15-Oct

On-hand still gets pegged to the transfer planned order that has sugg due date outside expiry.
