How to expand Children REST resources over the standard 25 limit?

Summary:

We have a scenario where we need to gather information via REST API and collect refnums from packagedItems resource; problem is that we have more than 25 refnums to collect, and the standard limit for resources is that number.

We can't modify the standard limit, does anybody have a solution for this?
