Updates to OCI OEL 8 Compute instance

Hi Team,

We have an OCI Compute instance that was created approximately six months ago. Since its creation, we have not performed any OS updates, including package updates, kernel updates, or other Linux OS security updates.

The server is currently running Oracle Linux 8.9

We would like to understand the recommended approach for bringing the server up to date while remaining on the Oracle Linux 8 release.

We have only 2 oci compute instances, hence we are not using OS Management Hub.

Any recommended best practices, pre-checks, backup strategy, and rollback considerations would be very helpful.
