Application rebuild - DR

Hi Team,

We have an OCI Compute instance in our Primary region (Hyderabad), but we do not maintain a Compute instance in the DR region (Mumbai) due to cost considerations. Our DR database is maintained in standby mode in Mumbai.

During a DR event, our plan is to provision a new Compute instance in Mumbai and restore/recreate the required application environment rather than maintaining a running Compute instance in DR.

Could you please clarify the recommended OCI approach for this DR model?

  1. Can we create a custom Compute image of the Primary Compute instance and copy the image to the bucket in DR region (Mumbai), so that the Compute instance can be recreated during DR?
