Change in Accrue On Value in Plan Setup

We would like to update a current absence accrual plan to update on the start of a repeating period instead of the end of a repeating period, but are not able to change that attribute in the plan setup.

We would like to update a current absence accrual plan to update on the start of a repeating period instead of the end of a repeating period, but are not able to change that attribute in the plan setup. Has anyone else had a similar challenge and handled with other setup steps? Can someone the Oracle teams help provide the rationale for limiting this edibility once a plan is in use? If we can't make the change it would be helpful to understand the reason why.
