Should PER_HIDE_PLACE_OF_BIRTH_LOOKUP Be Maintained for All Countries or Only Localized Countries?

Summary:

We would like to get clarification regarding the usage of PER_HIDE_PLACE_OF_BIRTH_LOOKUP Profile option.

Our customer uses the Town of Birth field in the Biographical Information section in Personal Details Page and expects this field to be available as a free-text field.

We observed that for countries such as Brazil, France, and Italy, the Town of Birth field are displayed as LOVs. To convert these fields to free-text fields, we configured PER_HIDE_PLACE_OF_BIRTH_LOOKUP.

According to the Oracle documentation, the Profile Option enhancements were introduced in Release 19C for Brazil, France, and Italy through localization-specific functionality.
