DUPLICATE TARGET DATABASE using RMAN backup-based duplication

in Database 10 comments

Hi Team,

In one of our legacy system, We are planning to refresh our source database to the target Dev environment using RMAN backup-based duplication. We start the auxiliary instance in NOMOUNT mode using a PFILE and execute the DUPLICATE TARGET DATABASE command with the BACKUP LOCATION clause.

Source and target versions using 19.17 version.

Source 2 node RAC

Target 1 node.

Our concern:

Our legacy database is approximately 1 TB in size. If the duplicate operation fails midway due to insufficient disk space or another issue, is it possible to resume the operation from where it failed rather than restarting the entire restore process?
