Inventory Stock Count Adjustment: Transaction Date at Month-End but Accounting in Next Period

Summary:

Hi All,

We are implementing Oracle Fusion Cloud Inventory Management and Cost Management, and we have the following requirement from the business.

Scenario:

  • At month-end (e.g., on the 28th to 31st), the warehouse performs a physical inventory / stock count (stock opname).
  • The stock count adjustment is entered with the actual count date (e.g., 28-31), after the stock count process is completed.
  • The business expects the accounting entries to be recorded in the following month’s period, not in the period of the transaction date.

Questions:

  1. Is it possible to keep the transaction date as the actual count date (28-31) while having the accounting date / GL journal fall in the next month’s period?

Howdy, Stranger!
