High Transmission Processing Times with Global Sequencing Enabled

Summary:

We are investigating high transmission processing times for a customer whose integrations use multiple custom data queues.


For an example a TransOrder transmission is associated with the process group owner SAP-OD-INT-SE01.
The customer has enabled global sequencing by setting glog.server.workflow.mediator.supportGlobalGroup=true. Based on our understanding of the documentation, transmissions associated with this process group owner are therefore processed sequentially.

Our analysis shows that most transmissions spend nearly their entire total processing time waiting in the queue.
For example, transmission 60571031 has current configuration as follows which are received as part of Transmission header:

  • InSequence: Y
  • StopProcessOnError: Y
