batch process for completion status

Has anyone ever tried and been successful in using the batch process functionality to change the completion status of a course? I have a number of users that all need their completion status changed on a particular course and thought I would give it a try. So I went to Completion Status under the User menu, selected my course, selected my users and then in the batch process area put in the necessary information. When I clicked on the "Change Status" button I received an error message that read "You must select at least one user." There are no
