Problem with receipt numbering

 Hello I  need to have automatic numbering when I have an manual receipt.
So, I have the profile Sequence numbering : Always used, I have an sequence defined and  assigned to my payment method, but still, when I enter a receipt I don't have an automatic receipt number.
Please help.
