Backing up RMAN backup from ASM to tape

  Hi Guys
We are new to RMAN and currently working on gathering the requirements to put RMAN in place for a new 2 node RAC setup with Oracle 10g using ASM
We know that we need to configure FRA on ASM Disk group and put the RMAN backups there. The question we have are

1. What is RMAN best practice in terms of putting the backup onto TAPE? Should we WRITE directly to TAPE or should we first create backup on ASM DISK (FRA area) and then from there copy to tape?
2. If we want to copy RMAN backups from ASM Disk Group (FRA area) to tape, and since we cannot use O/S ocopy command, how would we accomplish this?

Howdy, Stranger!
