Automated management of OEM jobs

We have a couple of jobs scheduled through OEM that seem to get stuck occassionally.  The work they do completes, but the job remains in the schedule as "running".  We implemented a monitoring process to alert us to the event when it occurs but would now like to automate a process to cancel the "running" job and resubmit it so the next scheduled pass can run.

I have not been able to find a way to do this yet.  Has anyone else run into this situation with jobs not clearing out of the schedule when the work is complete?  Any ideas on how to automate cancelling and resubmitting the job through OEM?
