Hi everybody, We use oracle 10g and also 8i on Unix Servers. We want to maintain a copy of tnsnames.ora file on Novell Net Work Drive. We also like to have one copy of tnsnames.ora file on our desktops. What we want is, Is there a way to pick tnsnames entry from Net Work copy, if it is not existing on the tnsnames.ora file we have on our desktops?
I tired this using IFILE entry in my local tnsnames.ora file. It is recognising when I give pathing in terms of Mapping my Net Work Path to a Local Drive(for eg G:\something\something. It does not work if I give my Net Work Path without mapping to Local Drive and giving ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified. Can someone throw some light on this Please...
