ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column

 Hi,

With several of our customers we have the error: ORA-01461

It occurrs irregular and at unknown times and is not repreducable.

I've found Note 461670.1 on the metalink which tells me to update from database version 10.2.0.3 to 10.0.2.4.

Before we bring down any production servers, we would like to know whether this update will solve the problem.

Can anyone confirm this please.
