Volume Configuration and Layout for Oracle 11g RAC and NetApp

I have been tasked with setting up oracle rac using a FAS2020 with 12 144 gb disks. right now I have it set up in an Active/Active config, each controller has 1 aggregate of 4 disks (2 data disks and 2 parity disks) this leaves 2 spares per controller.

I have also considered doing more of an active / passive configuration and only having 3 disks on the passive controller in a raid 4 config.

We are using ISCSI over gigE to connect the SAN to the db servers.

I am looking for any suggestions on how to configure /setup the volumes and LUN's.

Also, some specfic questions:

What is the minimum space I need to have for the root volume?
