Re-installing only one node of a cluster...Is it possible?

For your consideration...a two node RAC cluster at patchset level 10.2.0.4 running on Solaris 10...Oracle Clusterware, ASM storage on raw partitions.

To prepare for the applicatio of  some OS patches on both nodes, we shut everything down on node 1 and then turned it over to the sysadmins for the patch.  They commented out the init line for RAC startup in the /etc/rc area since multiple reboots were needed for the OS patches.  The first round of patch application went fine but node 1 failed to come back up.  This is apparently related to a Sun bug.  The worst case scenario is that node 1 will need to be rebuilt from scratch.

Howdy, Stranger!
