Default value in Descriptive Flexfield (Transaction Information)

 I am trying to default value for a segment value for transaction Information flexfield. It's not defaulting. could anybody give the steps to do that will be great. we are using Global Data Elements and also i tried creating different context and assigning as reference field. with that i am getting APP-FND-00676 error.
