Postions and how to remove them
My client has implemented Positions in Oracle HR. Not sure why they did this as their structure does not really fit the Position model. They are now coming to realise this as the amount of Position maintenance far outweighs what little benefit they get from Positions. They are considering doing away with Positions. My view is that as Positions are fundamental to the Business Group then they will have to create new Business Groups without Positions and then migrate employees and the date-tracked employee history to the new Business Groups.
