any impacts on the application when use LDAP/OID to replace the tnsname.ora file

folks, our customer is going to use LDAP/OID to replace the distribute tnsnames.ora file and thin JDBC, that changes require us, the application vendor to support the OID naming method, can someone share your OID expertise and point the impacts, changes on the application and system configuration? Any thoughts and comments will be great appreciated! Thanks.
